We have within us the desire and the capacity to express ourselves and to live fully. At the same time we have learnt to protect ourselves often under conditions of great difficulty. Psychotherapy happens in the context of a supportive therapeutic relationship. Within a safe environment it is possible to open up learning more about ourselves. Issues including anxiety, depression, stress, difficulties in relationships and abuse can be helped. The overall goals of psychotherapy would include an increased sense of well being, recognition of the strengths we already have and the capacity to respond in new ways to difficult situations.
